Different Stock Options And Box Styles To Package Cookies

Cookie-Boxes

Cookies are a food item that is liked by any and all. They come in different sizes, different flavours and have something in store for all. While most people may choose to bake these delectable items at home, they are however available at markets, bakeries and shops too. People who would like to take the shortcut can also buy cookie dough and cookie mix to make cookies taste and look like store bought ones. Manufacturers that make cookie mixes package them in attractive looking boxes so customers may get attracted to their product. Let us dive into the world of cookie packaging and discuss the different types of packaging boxes, that encase cookies.

Cardboard Boxes:
The most used material all over the world to package cookies is cardboard. As cardboard is versatile, it can be shaped into different styles of boxes without its surface cracking making it the perfect choice for most products. The cardboard material itself provides a smooth surface for printing and other add-ons. A nicely designed cardboard cookie box looks much more appealing to the eye than a box made out of any other stock option. Whether it is cookie mixes we talk about or pre-baked ones available at the grocery store, they are packaged firstly in plastic bags and then in a final cardboard box. Same is the case with bakeries although the bakeries skip packing their cookies in plastic and directly move to paper packaging.

Kraft Boxes:
The next most used packaging material for cookies is eco-friendly kraft. If you are unaware of what kraft is, you probably will have seen them around. The kraft paper stock is coarse to touch, brown in colour and can be harder than cardboard. Most kraft boxes are not printed on except for the logo and name of the company or retailer. As dyes and inks can be toxic, the eco-friendly purpose of kraft can be defeated, hence manufacturers prefer the print to be as little as possible. These boxes can also be an incentive for environmentally conscious customers who are always on the lookout for green brands. If you are a business owner, the best part is that kraft packaging is relatively cheaper than other stock options.

Flat Window Boxes:
Rectangular or square flat window boxes are what we see most in grocery stores and in bakeries. Shaped like a square or a rectangle, these boxes have a window die-cut on the lid.  The lid may be detachable or have flaps which can be tucked at the sides or the front of the box. Cookies that are festive or designed for a special function are encased in these boxes so they can be seen properly.

Tall Boxes:
Another style of boxes that encase cookies are tall boxes. Unlike a box that lays down on the surface and has more width than height, these boxes are the opposite. They stand tall like buildings and have cookies stacked on top of each other. Gable boxes are also used to encase cookies as well and in the same, style i.e. tall. The material can be kraft and cardboard any, depending on the preference of the retailer and manufacturer.
